Eileen E. Avery's research is focused on the ways that economic, social, and built residential contexts are associated with health, wellbeing, and social control. Past and ongoing projects focus on the relationship between neighborhood and other geographic contexts and health and mortality, cohesion, fear, and experiences with police.
