Who are Peer Navigators?

A&S Peer Navigators are students – just like you – who have experienced being new to Mizzou. They will help you find your community and be a friendly resource to answer questions, both big and small. You can schedule an appointment with a peer navigator in MU Connect or email us at peernavigators@missouri.edu.

Why are you a Peer Navigator?

Jess Bottger

Jess Bottger

I wish I had someone to get advice from my freshman year that was currently going through what I was and could – very – directly relate. I now get to be involved in the thing I very much wished for freshman year.

I love helping people and want to help new students at a time when they really need help.

Peer navigators would have been helpful to me when I was transferring to Mizzou and getting acclimated to campus.

I want to be able to offer support and guidance to my peers in ways that you can’t do without a position like this. I have always been the one to help my friends make their schedules or to help a student I see struggling.

I enjoy being involved in guiding others in times of transition so being a peer navigator seemed like a great fit for me.

I wish there were peer navigators when I first joined to learn about Mizzou, so when I heard about this, I wanted to be a part of it.

Sophy Silva

I enjoyed my previous role as an ambassador as an undergraduate, so I wanted a similar position during graduate school. I am passionate about helping others, and I hope to provide resources and support for incoming Arts and Science students.

I’ll talk your ear off about anything I’m knowledgeable or passionate about, so if anything I’ve covered interests you and you want to know more, please come ask me about it! I’d love to help you find and explore your interests!

Emili Zavala

I am a first-generation student and felt lost and confused during my first year. I want to share my experience and be there for all incoming students.
