Giovanni Vignale was recently named a Curators’ Distinguished Professor Emeritus by the University of Missouri Board of Curators. Vignale is a researcher in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and was previously named a Curators’ Distinguished Professor in 2006.

A Curators' Distinguished Professorship is the highest and most prestigious academic rank awarded by the Board of Curators. It is awarded to a select few outstanding scholars with established reputations.

The focus of Vignale’s research is understanding the effects that arise from the interaction between electrons. He began working at Mizzou in 1988.
