Noah Heringman, with the College of Arts and Science Department of English, was recently named the Curator’s Distinguished Professor of English by the University of Missouri’s Board of Curators. He received the Missouri Faculty Award as an exceptional faculty member who has contributed to the university's growth and core mission. Heringman's work focuses on the disciplines of history, anthropology, archaeology, geology, and environmental science, specifically in regard to their relationships to humankind.  

Heringman, who presents lectures worldwide, joined the English department in 1998 as an assistant professor, and currently teaches courses on British Romanticism, literature and science, poetic genres, and critical theory.
