Looking for your next family outing, date night or cultural adventure? You don’t have to look far. The University of Missouri is home to some of mid-Missouri’s most dynamic concerts, exhibitions and performances.
And now, they’re all under the umbrella of Mizzou Arts, a hub that brings together the legendary University Concert Series, museums and exhibits, music and theatrical performances. Whether you’re a longtime lover of the arts or just looking for something new, Mizzou Arts makes it easier than ever to explore live entertainment near you.
Here are three ways to let Mizzou entertain you.
1. Catch a show with the University Concert Series.
Now part of the College of Arts and Science, the University Concert Series brings unforgettable performances to Columbia. Founded in 1908 by the music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the series originally focused on classical theatre, music and dance. Since then, the programming has expanded to include popular music, comedy and musicals.
What to expect
- The 2025-26 lineup features classic rock, Motown, gospel, musicals, ballet and Chinese acrobatics.
- Performances are held in Jesse Auditorium and the Missouri Theatre.
- Public ticket sales open Thursday, Aug. 7, but Concert Series members can access tickets in advance.
Mark your calendars: Planning ahead for the holidays? Don’t miss The Prophecy Show: Trans-Siberian Experience; Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet; and Rain: A Beatles Christmas Tribute.
