Kylee Isom, a senior and Tristan Sheldon, a junior, both earning BFA degrees in the School of Visual Studies, were recognized by Lenscratch, an online platform dedicated to supporting and celebrating talented students in the field of photography through community, collaboration, and education. The photographers on Lenscratch’s 26 to Watch list are artistic photographers, “who may be at the beginning of their photography journey but are already working at an elevated level, creating work that is deeply meaningful, especially in a time when change is critical,” wrote Aline Smithton, the organization’s founder.
Kylee Isom’s work utilizes self-portrait and still life addressing the questions around gender, identity, and body within a constructed allusion of domestic space.
Tristan’s work visualized the anxiety of living in an unstable environment of political divides, the growing gap between the rich and poor, a global pandemic, and devastating natural disasters.
