Sachin Handa, associate professor of chemistry, has been honored for his groundbreaking work in water-based chemistry by the Swiss Chemical Society, Switzerland’s leading professional network for chemists and related scientists.
Handa’s work includes the use and understanding of the role of designer surfactants in catalysis.
The Swiss Green & Sustainable Chemistry Award celebrates early-career investigators, within 10 years of the start of their independent career, who make outstanding scientific discoveries within the field of green and sustainable chemistry. The honor includes a monetary endowment and an award certificate sponsored by Syngenta Crop Protection AG.
Handa will present his research at the Swiss Chemical Society meeting at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland in April 2026. The trip will be covered by the Swiss Chemicals Society in addition to a monetary endowment.
