University of Missouri’s Psi Chi chapter is the recipient of the 2021-22 Ruth Hubbard Cousins Chapter Award. The award acknowledges Mizzou’s Psi Chi as the chapter that “best and consistently exemplifies” the international honor society’s mission. Only one chapter out of more than 1,130 affiliates is selected for the honor each year.

“It has been my honor and pleasure to be part of our MU Psi Chi (International Honor Sociery) Chapter and our Psychology Club”, said Lisa Bauer, associate teaching professor of psychological sciences. Bauer served as the faculty advisor for the society for 11 years and is a three-time recipient of the Psi Chi Outstanding Professor of the Year award.

In recognition of the accomplishment, the chapter will receive $3,000 from Psi Chi and two custom engraved plaques. The University of Missouri – Columbia Psi Chi chapter will use the funds to support their mission.

Any member of the MU community who is interested in psychology can attend the Psi Chi/Psychology Club meetings and events. If you’d like to receive information about future meetings and events, sign up for weekly emails by contacting aspsichi@missouri.edu
