A&S alumni among first recipients of Mizzou R.A.H. Award

Several College of Arts & Science alumni are among the first recipients of the Mizzou R.A.H. (Recent Alumni Honorees) Award. This new Mizzou Alumni Association award highlights the incredible work of University of Missouri alumni, ages 35 and younger. These A&S alumni have demonstrated exceptional professional achievement and volunteerism on campus and in their local communities.

"My most significant accomplishment since graduation was founding the Day Dreams Foundation in 2014. The organization's mission is to eliminate financial barriers to participating in extracurricular activities and promote healthy lifestyles, goal setting, academics, teamwork, and respect for others. We award scholarships to children in Columbia, Mo. to allow them to participate in the activity of their choosing - athletics, theater, music lessons, dance, summer camps, swim lessons, and much more."

"I started my career working in higher education, primarily in advancement and alumni relations. In 2021, I took a leap of faith and made a big career shift, leaving Mizzou and Columbia to move back to my hometown to work with US Rice Producers Association and the Missouri Rice Council. Making the jump from higher education to agriculture was a huge shift, but I'm proud to say I've excelled and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of US Rice Producers Association last fall."

"In 2021, I got tapped to launch and solo host a show in St. Louis, Mo., a top 25 TV market in the country. The show has been wildly successful in TV ratings and as an additional revenue stream for the station. Additionally, in September 2022, I became the In-Arena Host for the St. Louis Blues, making history as the first African American woman to host games for the St. Louis Blues franchise.

In this role, I execute large-scale city-wide events, assist with city operations and performance management, lead sustainability policy and liaise with stakeholders on all national affairs."

"I am one of the lucky individuals that was able to graduate from Mizzou twice - once as an undergraduate and years later through medical school, entering the medical field at the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time frame, I was selected by the American Academy of Family Physicians as an emerging leader through their Family Medicine Leads Emerging Leader Institute, where I completed a year-long quality improvement project that ultimately led to challenging state and national policy."
