CHICAGO, ILLINOIS—Two pots, each containing small bronze tools, a pierced eggshell (one of which was intact), and a coin, have been uncovered on top of the remains of an elite building at Sardis thought to have been destroyed by an earthquake in A.D. 17. A new building had been constructed over the rubble and the deposits.

The University of Missouri System awards one Presidential Citation Award for each campus in the University System, plus one for UM Extension and one for the UM System.

MU Professors Are Going to the Emmys

Brian Maurer, assistant teaching professor of film studies, has never had a reason to get a tuxedo until now.  He was recently invited to attend the Mid-American Emmy awards on October 5 in St. Louis. because the film Joplin, Missouri—A Tornado Story has been nominated for best documentary in the public broadcasting category.  Maurer was a cinematographer for the film directed by Chip Gubera, an instructor in the computer science department.
