The Life and Letters of the Ancient Mediterranean display is a cooperative project between The Classical Studies Dept., the Museum of Art & Archeology, Art History & Archeology, the Ellis Library collection of rare books, the Historic Costume and Textile collection, the Ellis Library display and events committees, and Gamal Castile. 

Please join us Oct. 10 at 5 p.m. in Ellis Library Room 114A for a special event featuring the weapons, armor and war tactics of the Ancient Greek hoplite warrior presented by Gamal Castile. See actual artifacts of everyday life in ancient Greece, presented by Museum of Art & Archaeology Curator of Ancient Art, Benton Kidd, and a few of MU Libraries’ ancient treasures including a 3,000+ year old fragment of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, presented by Special Collections Librarian Tim Perry.
