George Caleb Bingham Gallery
What ignites the artist’s vision?
What do artists spend money on or trade their own work for?
What inhabits the “visual space” in their homes?
What artworks or images captivate and inspire them?
The University of Missouri’s George Caleb Bingham Gallery is pleased to present Hunter Gatherer: Artists as Collectors, an exhibition of works on loan from the art department’s faculty members. The exhibition’s objects and images vary greatly, all coming from personal collections.
Artists and art educators live their days analyzing art with students and creating work for their own portfolios. This exhibition highlights vibrant visual and conceptual connections melding artists to those concrete objects close to their hearts and vital to their work.
Please join us at the George Caleb Bingham Gallery for an exhibition of items collected by artists. A reception will be held Tuesday, March 21, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
