Yongxin Yao, Ames National Lab, will present, "Gutzwiller-Rotationally Invariant Slave-Boson Method and its Applications," Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 4:00 pm, Physics Library, Room 223A.

In this talk, I will discuss the development of the Gutzwiller-Rotationally Invariant Slave-Boson method, including the recent effort on Gutzwiller renormalization group. The applications of the method for real materials based on density functional theory plus Gutzwiller will be demonstrated in the examples of the iso-structural volume collapse transition in Ce and energetics of different phases of the exotic element
