Professor Frederick Hawthorne 2009 Priestley Medalist

M. Frederick Hawthorne, PhD, a pioneer in boron chemistry and director of the MU International Institute of Nano and Molecular Medicine, received the 2009 Priestley Medal for his achievements in the field of chemistry.

The award is the American Chemical Society’s (ACS) highest honor. The world’s largest scientific society, the ACS presented the award to Hawthorne on March 24 in Salt Lake City.

This video of Professor Hawthorne was shown to attendees at the ACS meeting. The title of his speech is Polyhedral Boranes: Chemistry for the Future.
