This branch of Educational Technologies at Missouri (ET@MO) was created within the College of Arts and Science to make learning about and integrating technology in the curriculum more accessible to Arts and Science faculty. Our mission is to promote good teaching and technology innovation in the classroom, not technology as an end unto itself.
Some of the resources we offer are:
One-on-one consultations about your ideas and needs.
We will help you get from point A to point B, no matter if you are an absolute beginner or an expert. It is important to remember, if you are a beginner, that you don’t have to be an expert to get started. Baby steps toward using technology are fine and encouraged.
To schedule an appointment call: 884-7010 or email: asset@missouri.edu.
Support for your existing projects.
Help with assessment of the successes or shortcomings of your technology project.
Faculty seminars led by University of Missouri Faculty.
Faculty from across the university share their experiences integrating technology into the classroom. Each presentations explores the pedagogical reasons behind adopting a given technology, how it is used in conjunction with class, student response, assessment of its value and frank discussions about the pros and cons of adopting new technologies.
Please see our schedule of events for more information.
Use of Equipment & Software
The ASSET Office has a video-editing station and a workspace for digitizing slides. Arts & Science faculty are encouraged to make an appointment to learn how to use this equipment and may work on their projects in the ASSET Office.
In addition to workspace, the ASSET Office has a check-out system for frequently-used equipment.
Please note:
*While we will do everything we can to support your efforts, we will not do the work for you. We will train you, help you get started and check in with you to be sure you have everything you need, but we will not do the work for you. Our goal is to give you the skills you need to move forward and to support you as you do so.
*For problems with equipment, please contact the A&S computer help desk at: 884-0121 or send at email to: class@missouri.edu.
